What is Cheek and Cheekbone Contouring?
Cheek and cheekbone contouring is a procedure that can quickly and effectively tighten the face, refine the cheeks, eliminate visible signs of aging, and create a beautiful contour. Fillers injected subcutaneously fill the free space, remaining there for a certain period, and then completely break down in the body tissues.
The procedure is virtually painless and takes 30 minutes, and the patient can immediately return to their normal life. Nasolabial folds are also smoothed during this process.
The main component of fillers is synthesized hyaluronic acid. This substance's action is aimed at retaining moisture in cells and stimulating the production of collagen fibers. The ingredient itself replenishes the missing volume, resulting in smoother and more elastic skin. Quality products from trusted manufacturers are well tolerated by the body, do not cause allergies, and other complications. Injections are administered into the periosteal area, where they are securely fixed, preventing migration.
Correction of the cheeks with fillers has several advantages:
- Contouring not only improves the appearance and condition of the face but also contributes to the restoration of normal dermal function.
- The introduction of fillers allows skin rejuvenation without leaving traces.
- Modern preparations do not cause allergic reactions.
- The cheeks acquire a natural, aesthetic shape.
- The recovery period usually does not exceed a week.
- The effect lasts for several years.
Indications for the Procedure
This method can effectively correct such cosmetic defects:
- Distorted facial contour
- Thinned fat layer in the cheek area and consequent sagging
- Unexpressive cheek shape
- Pronounced nasolabial folds.
After the procedure, fine and deep wrinkles are smoothed out, the facial color is evened out, and pigmentation is eliminated.
Procedure Process
Prior to administering the medication, thorough preparation is necessary. A week before the procedure, medication and foods that may thin the blood should be avoided.
Facial contouring should not be combined with other methods that have aggressive effects on the skin. Alcohol consumption should be completely avoided for 2-3 days.
Algorithm of actions for cheek contouring with fillers:
- Thoroughly cleanse the skin of makeup residues, impurities
- Treat the skin with antiseptic preparations
- Place the gel in a disposable sterile syringe
- Slowly inject the medication in small doses
- Re-treat with antiseptic.
The procedure may be accompanied by unpleasant, painful sensations. To minimize their intensity, a special anesthetic cream should be applied to the skin. After the session, the doctor performs targeted massage during which the gel is evenly distributed under the skin.
Contouring typically does not cause adverse reactions. There may be slight redness, bruising, which will disappear soon. To prevent inflammation and infection, the skin should be treated with antiseptics three times a day.
Results and Duration of Effect
After the session, bruising, bruising, and redness may be observed, which will disappear in a day or two.
The result is noticeable immediately. Within a month, the gel is absorbed, contacts with the skin tissues, forming a beautiful, natural contour of the face. In very rare cases, rejection may occur, indicated by swelling, fever, and skin tenderness at the injection site.
The effect lasts for 12-18 months depending on the type of gel and individual body characteristics. The cost of the procedure is determined mainly by the type of filler used.
Additionally, cheeks can be corrected using lipofilling (fat filling). This is a more complex technique, but the effect is lifelong. In each individual case, the best correction method is chosen for the patient.
